Job summary
HDR is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer based in Chicago, IL to support the development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will work alongside industry experts to develop comprehensive engineering designs, support compliance with electrical safety codes, and facilitate project execution.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and demonstrate strong skills in project management and technical writing.

Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power generation, or electrical distribution.
- Understanding of National Electrical Code and related engineering standards.
- Ability to support multiple complex projects simultaneously.

- Support grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.
- Develop and review engineering design plans and specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance/quality control on technical designs.
