Job summary

b19 Consulting seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to help design and deliver utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will lead electrical design of AC collectors, MV infrastructure, and BOP systems from concept through construction, ensuring GO95 and NEC/NESC compliance.

The role emphasizes detailed design, coordination with Civil/Structural/Mechanical teams, and engagement with clients during design reviews and FAT. PE license or eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
7+ years of electrical design experience in utility, renewable energy, or BESS projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of California GO95 standards.
Experience sizing conductors, cables, conduit, raceways, and electrical equipment.
Experience preparing construction drawing packages using AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical design of utility-scale BESS collector systems.
Develop engineering packages from concept through IFC.
Design medium-voltage AC collector systems and related infrastructure.
Produce electrical site plans, conduit/cable routing, BOMs.
Perform voltage drop, ampacity, fault current, and loading calculations.
Mentor junior engineers and review vendor submittals.
