VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Bereavement Services Manager in Sacramento to lead the bereavement program, coordinate services, and support patients and families through expert consultation and education.

The role involves managing group activities, organizing memorial services, and providing grief education to staff and volunteers. A master’s degree in a related field is required, with preferred clinical experience and recruiting skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must meet State and Federal qualifications for providing bereavement services.
• Five years experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Experience with psychological dynamics associated with illness, loss and death.
• Experience organizing, staffing, and facilitating bereavement groups.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
• Product and marketing knowledge preferred.
• Recruiting experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation with proper license and insurance coverage for drives and passengers.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the bereavement program through strategic planning and coordination of services.
• Coordinate staff and volunteer bereavement training and assist the interdisciplinary team with bereavement delivery.
• Schedule and facilitate meetings with psychosocial staff to coordinate bereavement services.
• Oversee all bereavement group activities and regular meetings with group facilitators.
• Organize annual memorial services at one or more locations.
• Provide grief education and training to staff and volunteers.
