Job summary

By the Bay Health in Larkspur, CA seeks a Bereavement Services Manager to provide organization-wide leadership for bereavement programs across our hospice agencies and to coordinate a children’s bereavement camp. This full-time role leads strategic planning, policy development, budget oversight, and volunteer engagement to ensure high-quality, compliant services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mental health from an accredited university.
• Minimum of five years clinical experience in life-threatening and chronic illness, grief, and therapy.
• Minimum of two years’ experience managing mental health, bereavement, or related clinical services.
• Experience leading teams or programs across multiple locations or agencies.
• Experience with children’s grief programs or camps is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for bereavement services across the enterprise.
• Develop and implement organization-wide standards, workflows, policies, and measures for bereavement services across agencies.
• Ensure effective use of volunteers in bereavement services and the annual children’s bereavement camp.
• Assist executive leader in developing annual bereavement budgets and monitor resources across agencies.
• Lead and supervise planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of bereavement services.
