Title: Senior Benefits Specialist/Analyst
Location: St. Louis County, MO
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

Position Overview:
This role provides comprehensive analytical support in the ongoing design and administration of employee benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, wellness, HSA, and FSA plans. The Senior Benefits Specialist/Analyst will communicate regularly with employees and beneficiaries to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and resolve benefits and payroll issues using vendors, brokers, systems, and policies.
- Interface with vendors and brokers for administrative support and problem resolution.
- Administer leave of absence processes, including FMLA coordination and legislative updates.
- Perform system maintenance for hires, changes, and terminations, and generate reports.
- Prepare IRS Form 5500, schedules, and the Summary Annual Report.
- Review and audit rates, rules, and plans in PeopleSoft.
- Test benefits plans/rates for system upgrades.
- Handle updates for imputed income, benefit eligibility, and ACA reporting.
- Develop and conduct benefit orientations for new hires.
- Assist during open enrollment with communications and administration.
- Manage dependent care FSA testing and communicate changes.
- Assist with RFPs and vendor implementations.
- Post documents on the intranet.
- Analyze benefit surveys and compare benefits to the market.
- Ensure compliance with federal mandates and assist with reporting.
- Train HR Managers on benefit programs and conduct orientations.
- Respond to HR Helpline emails and calls, providing backup support.
- Investigate workplace accidents and maintain workers' compensation records.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Specifications/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and laws related to employee benefits.
- Thorough understanding of health/welfare plans and payroll processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in statistical calculations and presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, especially PeopleSoft.
- Problem-solving and project management skills.
- Ability to work with vendors and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational skills for data management.
- Regular attendance as scheduled.
- Research and analytical skills, critical thinking, decision-making, and time management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
- 5-6 years of experience in health/welfare plans and benefit administration in HRIS systems.
- CEBS or CBP certification is a plus.
