Position Overview:

The Benefits Consultant primarily focuses on client retention and managing an existing book of business. Responsibilities include strategy development, financial analysis, benefit design, plan renewals, benchmarking, and service delivery. The role involves communicating OneDigital’s value and industry trends to clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop benefit design and renewal strategies for complex client issues.
  • Collaborate with account management and client service teams on pre-renewal strategies, RFPs, open enrollment, and post-renewal analysis.
  • Define the scope of services for clients.
  • Establish and communicate timelines with client service teams.
  • Maintain accountability for revenue, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor project success in scope, budget, and timeliness.
  • Oversee onboarding of new clients with implementation plans and timelines.
  • Ensure client service exceeds expectations.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to grow the book of business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Attend carrier events to stay updated on plans and strengthen relationships.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance markets, funding options, and benefit plans.
  • Ensure client data accuracy in CRM systems.
  • Stay informed on compliance issues like HIPAA, ERISA, Tax Code SEC 125, and PPACA.
Requirements:
  • Ability to influence and interact effectively with C-suite executives.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage workload efficiently.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ benefits consulting experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Health Care Reform, insurance products, and quoting processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with database applications.
  • Valid life and health insurance license required.
