Vaco/Highspring is seeking a Senior Benefits Coordinator for an in-office, Birmingham-based role. You will design, administer, and communicate comprehensive employee benefits programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with 5+ years in benefits administration, including supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of benefits-related laws. Strong communication and HRIS skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; 5+ years in benefits administration with supervisory experience.
• Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local benefits laws and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Proficient in HRIS and benefits administration software; strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, administration, and communication of employee benefits programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and file government reports (e.g., Form 5500).
• Develop and execute employee communications about benefits and enrollment.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment periods and maintain accurate records in HRIS.
• Analyze benefits utilization and cost trends; prepare leadership reports.
• Negotiate with brokers and vendors to optimize terms and costs.
