Job summary

City of Myrtle Beach is seeking a Benefits Manager to design, administer, and oversee the city’s comprehensive benefits program, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans. The role focuses on cost containment, effective vendor management, and open enrollment coordination.

You will ensure statutory compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other regulations, communicate benefits information to employees and retirees, and lead a team to deliver high-quality benefits

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field.
• Five (5) years of related experience in benefits administration and insurance preferably life and health insurance.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and administer the city’s benefits program.
• Manage a variety of group benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA and other federal/state regulations.
• Select benefit vendors, manage open enrollment and vendor renewals.
