Job summary

Center for Elders’ Independence (CEI) in Oakland, CA, is seeking a Benefits Case Manager to enroll CEI participants in eligible income and insurance benefits and coordinate with families, payees and government agencies.

Under the Director of Enrollment and Member Services, you will manage a caseload, monitor eligibility, support Medi-Cal and Medicare enrollment and recertification, document in the CEI database, and communicate issues across the team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Experience or knowledge in benefits such as Medi-Cal, Medicare and other senior benefits.
• Excellent customer service and service recovery skills.
• Strong case management skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient with computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing and Salesforce.
• Ability to work independently in a high-stressed environment.
• Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish; English/Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese; English/Vietnamese.

Responsibilities

• Manage participants' benefits eligibility and liaise with participants, families, representative payees and government agencies.
• Attend enrollment and care conference meetings; conduct home visits as needed.
• Maintain organized and secure caseload filing; generate reports.
• Verify income and share-of-cost information and document in CEI database.
• Coordinate Medi-Cal and Medicare enrollment and re-certification; assist with Part A and QMB benefits where needed.
• Communicate insurance issues to staff across departments as needed.
