Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a Benefits Manager to design, administer and continuously improve our comprehensive benefits programs across multi-state locations. You will partner with HR leadership, payroll, legal and vendors to ensure compliant, employee-centered plans and streamlined processes.

Required: bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field; 5 years in compensation/benefits with 3 years in team leadership; strong leave-law knowledge and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, Information Systems or related area required; Master's preferred.
• 5 years of progressive compensation and benefits experience; 3 years leading teams.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state leave laws and ability to interpret evolving legislation.
• Analytical, quantitative analysis and project management skills; excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).

Responsibilities

• Design and administer comprehensive benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement).
• Oversee leave administration, payroll integration, timekeeping and policy interpretation.
• Lead vendor relationships, contract negotiations and cost optimization.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management across federal/state/local laws.
• Provide data-driven analysis to guide strategy and communication to employees.
