Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a Benefits Manager to design and govern a comprehensive suite of benefit programs and leave processes. This role partners with HR leadership, payroll, legal, and finance to ensure compliant, employee-centered programs that support attraction, retention and wellbeing.

Responsibilities include managing health and welfare plans, retirement programs, leave and vendor management, system implementations, and annual open enrollment, with a focus on data-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems or related area required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 5 years of progressive compensation and benefits experience and at least 3 years leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, administer and continuously improve comprehensive benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement).
• Oversee leave administration programs (FMLA, paid family leave, short/long-term disability) and ensure policy interpretation.
• Manage vendors, provider relationships and contract negotiations for benefits offerings.
• Lead annual open enrollment and coordinate with HRIS/IT/payroll for system readiness.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local regulations (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA) and maintain plan documents and filings.
• Provide data analysis and education/communication strategies to improve benefits utilization.
