LaunchDarkly is seeking a senior benefits leader to own the benefits strategy and roadmap, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, 401(k), and global offerings.

You will lead annual renewals, negotiate with carriers, and oversee post-enrollment audits while partnering with Finance to forecast spend and ensure compliance with ACA/ERISA/HIPAA/COBRA/FMLA.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive benefits experience.
• Deep knowledge of US benefits regulations (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA).
• Experience with benefits administration platforms and HRIS systems.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

About:

• Own the benefits strategy and roadmap, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability, FSA/HSA, 401(k), mental health and wellness, and global/international offerings.
• Lead the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment cycle, including plan design analysis, funding and cost modeling, carrier negotiation, and post-enrollment audits.
• Manage broker, carrier, PEO/EOR, and third-party administrator relationships, ensuring vendors meet service levels, pricing, and employee experience standards.
• Partner with Finance to forecast, budget, and report on benefits spend while identifying cost containment opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, state and local leave laws, and own required filings, notices, and audits.
• Administer and optimize benefits technology, ensuring data accuracy and reconciliation of invoices and eligibility.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex employee benefits, leave, and accommodation cases.
• Design and deliver benefits communications and education to employees.
• Evaluate benefits for new geographies and acquisitions, supporting integration of new employee populations.
• Build scalable processes, documentation, and metrics for participation, cost per employee, utilization, and satisfaction.
• Stay current on regulatory changes, market trends, and emerging benefits solutions.

Experience:

• 8+ years of progressive benefits experience.
• Deep knowledge of US benefits regulations (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA) and health plan funding models.
• Experience with benefits administration platforms and HRIS systems.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands.
• High standards for accuracy and confidentiality.

Salary and Perks:

Pay range: $116K - $187K
