Job summary

NFP, an Aon company, seeks a Senior Consultant to lead client relationships and benefit plan analyses across medical, life, and disability programs. You will evaluate plans, negotiate with carriers, and mentor junior staff while supervising open enrollment and compliance audits.

A strong background in Health Care Reform and ERISA is essential. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and carriers, driving strategic health and welfare initiatives with leadership from the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of benefits administration, HealthCare Reform, industry trends, carrier products and services.
• Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs.
• Effective time management and decision making skills.
• Diligent follow up skills.
• Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients; act as SME on Health & Welfare benefits and vendor/carrier products/services.
• Maintain a project plan to ensure client deliverables are provided on time; delegate work to junior team members.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, companies and clients; inform on industry trends and regulatory issues.
• Explain COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125, and Health Care Reform to clients and updates on relevant regulations.
• Review RFPs and plan analyses; negotiate with carriers and renewal actions; oversee new business implementations.
• Oversee open enrollment process; review employee presentations and communications.
• Conduct and present annual client compliance audits; understand client financial mechanics and projections.
