Job summary

Securian Financial seeks a claims professional to develop and administer benefit and claims policies, communicating with customers, home office staff, field personnel, and third-party representatives. You will investigate, compile, analyze data, and make claim determinations while handling documentation and correspondence.

Responsibilities include processing settlements, advising beneficiaries on options, and ensuring compliance with IRS and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process claims settlements.
• Correspond with beneficiaries regarding their claim options and required documentation.
• Understand regulations, contract provisions, and procedures affecting claim processing; communicate impacts to parties.
• Process the claim option requested by the beneficiary in accordance with contract provisions, regulations, and standards.
• Provide excellent customer service to beneficiaries, clients, and advisors.
• Answer the backup Claims line, respond to emails, and handle written correspondence.
• Articulate the operation of the claims process, options for beneficiaries, required documentation, and special circumstances.
