Job summary

The Senior Benefit Advocate at Cigna Healthcare translates client benefit intent from sold plan documents into Crystal-generated Plan Information Forms and downstream Diamond configurations. The role blends benefit expertise, quality reviews, consulting, and independent problem-solving across new business, renewals, upsells, and midyear plan changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in healthcare, benefits, benefit configuration, claims, implementation, or related experience.
• Experience with Cigna Global Health Benefits or related internal benefits operation.
• Strong Diamond knowledge and ability to interpret benefit configuration and downstream impacts at the MEDDEF level.
• Solid knowledge of medical, dental, vision, IEAP, life, and other ancillary benefits.
• Analytical, critical-thinking, and quality-review skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication, especially with Sales and commercial partners.
• Proficiency in a Windows-based environment and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review sold plan documents, PIFs, and materials to confirm client intent and requirements.
• Use Crystal daily to review, enter, and update benefit information for new business, renewals, upsells, maintenance, and off-cycle changes.
• Understand MEDDEF level configurations and anticipate downstream impacts.
• Participate in installation and expert-team meetings, providing clear recommendations to partners.
• Validate that PIF information aligns with what was sold and supports downstream setup and documentation.
• Research complex benefit questions and coordinate corrections with client-facing and benefits teams.
• Advise Sales and Client Management on nonstandard benefit options and Crystal entry.
• Complete quality reviews within daily deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
• Support testing and improvements to Crystal and Diamond workflows and procedures.
• Work independently and escalate questions when needed.
