Job summary

The Summit Center is seeking a Senior Behavior Support Technician - OPWDD to join our Western New York team in Amherst, Tonawanda and Clarence. The role supports day habilitation and OPWDD programs, providing direct observation, data collection, and behavioral assessments under supervision.

You will train staff, develop intervention plans, monitor treatment integrity, and participate in administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or related human services field preferred.
• Up to four years of successful experience as a Behavioral Support Technician preferred; may require 1–4 months supervised experience in Summit’s day school program.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis including assessments, designing programs, and evaluating progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral consultation to teams with or without direct oversight
• Develop or contribute to behavioral assessments and interventions as needed
• Provide crisis intervention and promote trauma-informed approaches
• Collect, organize, and maintain direct observational data
• Train staff in best-practice methods
• Complete or assist with required reports
• Adhere to current best practice and ethical guidelines
