Job summary

The Summit Center is a leading provider of evidence-based supports in Western New York. We seek a Senior Behavior Support Technician (Academy) to conduct behavioral assessments, develop intervention plans, and mentor technicians in a collaborative, person-centered environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree (ABA preferred) with 6+ months of relevant ABA experience, and a NYS driver’s license. Competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's in ABA preferred.
• At least 6 months of experience as a technician with developmentally disabled individuals using ABA methods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral assessments and assist in developing behavior plans.
• Guide Behavioral Support Technicians and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Assist classroom teams with data-based behavioral consultation.
• Complete behavioral assessments and progress reports.
• Train staff in best-practice methods and crisis intervention.
• Ensure IEP mandates are fulfilled and maintain records.
• Adhere to core agency values and employment policies.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Pay: $25.85 - $27.15 per hour

Location: Amherst, NY

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 37.5 hrs./week

Your Impact as a Senior Behavior Support Technician

The Senior Behavioral Support Technician conducts behavioral assessments, assists in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans, provides guidance to Behavioral Support Technicians, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support high-quality, person-centered services.

• Assist in providing data-based behavioral consultation to classroom teams
• Complete behavioral assessments
• Assist in the development and writing of required reportsMeasure student progress on interim behavioral protocols and behavior intervention plans and the reliability of treatment implementation
• Train staff in best practice methods
• Provide and oversee crisis intervention services for students
• Ensure that IEP mandates are fulfilled
• Maintain all records required
• Conduct all duties, responsibilities, and daily activities in accordance with current best practice and ethical guidelines

• Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree required. Currently enrolled in or having completed a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
• At least 6 months of experience as a technician working with developmentally disabled individuals using Applied Behavior Analysis methods.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, etc.:

• First Aid, CPR, Ukeru and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention - Revised Instructor (SCIP-R) certification
• Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
