Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Abilene, TX is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist V to provide behavior support services, assessments, and data-driven interventions under supervision. The role supports individuals with complex needs within State Supported Living Centers and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include developing behavior support plans, staff training, data collection, and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, applied behavior analysis, or a related field.
• At least six months experience in providing services to persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Eligible to pursue board certification as a behavior analyst upon hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends regular shifts and may work rotating schedules, overtime, or on-call as required.
• Conducts functional behavioral assessments and develops/approves behavior support plans with supervision.
• Train staff in applied behavior analysis and behavior support plan implementation.
• Monitors and evaluates behavior support plans and documents progress with data and reports.
