Facility Location: Richmond State Supported Living Center – 2100 Preston, RICHMOND, TX.

Essential Job Functions

• Attend work regularly, following the scheduled shift and performing additional duties as assigned, including on‑call status on a rotating schedule as needed.
• Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop behavior support plans, psychiatric support plans, and skill acquisition plans under the review of a Board‑Certified Licensed Behavior Analyst.
• Train staff in applied behavior analysis and implementation of behavior support plans.
• Monitor and evaluate behavior support plans, psychiatric support plans, and skill acquisition plans to ensure effective implementation.
• Document data, graphs, and progress notes to evaluate individual response to treatment.
• Participate as a member of the unit and interdisciplinary teams, providing behavioral analysis and behavioral health perspectives.
• Monitor and evaluate the use of restraints and emergency procedures, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
• Assist in coordinating and reviewing psychotropic medication use with adequate nonpharmacological supports.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality enhancement activities related to psychological service provision.
• Plan work, assign duties, and provide technical assistance to staff to facilitate effective behavior service delivery.
• Collect information for evaluations of intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior, and summarize information for behavioral health assessments and annual updates.
• Maintain current knowledge in behavioral analysis, behavioral health services, and training techniques.
• Perform special assignments as requested, including disaster response, recovery, or continuity of operations activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience in delivering behavior analysis and behavioral health services to persons with intellectual disabilities.
• Knowledge of etiology and characteristics of developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and departmental and agency policy.
• Skill in administering discipline‑specific assessments, including intelligence and adaptive behavior assessments.
• Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis.
• Ability to train staff in behavior support plan implementation and basic psychological/behavioral concepts.
• Ability to work within a model of professional supervision and make decisions within broad parameters.
• Proficiency in personal computers and relevant software.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Effective teamwork within an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and complete basic duties with moderate supervision.

Initial Screening Criteria

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, applied behavior analysis, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least six months of experience providing services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Additional Employment Requirements

Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Males aged 18–25 must register with the Selective Service. All State Supported Living Center employees are subject to random drug testing. Flexibility in work hours may be required; the position may require overtime, extended hours, weekends, and holidays. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Eligible candidates may pursue board certification as a behavior analyst upon hire.
