Job summary

The State of West Virginia's Bureau of Behavioral Health seeks a Disaster Response Coordinator to lead the statewide coordination of incidents, disaster response, and COOP development.

This role builds partnerships with CBHCs, WV VOAD, first responders, and other agencies; manages grant programs, training, and response exercises while aligning with state emergency planning and multi-agency procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
• Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.
• Post-graduate education in a field related to the technical or program area may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Bureau’s response to critical incidents and declared and undeclared disasters on a local and statewide basis.
• Develop and maintain Hazards and COOP planning for the BBH and integrate planning into statewide disaster systems.
• Oversee grant applications, subgrantee reporting, and compliance, and manage subgrantee budgets and communications.
• Build and maintain partnerships with CBHCs, WV VOAD, faith-based groups, LEPCs, first responders, and other agencies to enhance behavioral health disaster response capacity.
