Zusammenfassung

Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS) operates NNSS beamlines and maintains SSRL facilities in Livermore. The candidate will join a team of scientists and engineers to support high-hazard experiments, beamline maintenance, and user training on SS RL beamlines.

Strong expertise in X-ray optics, beamline diagnostics, and control software such as LabVIEW/EPICS is required. The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and timely execution of complex tasks in a demanding research environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in calculus-based technical field plus at least 5 years relevant experience.
• Experience with the use and operations of synchrotron beamlines highly desired.
• Experience with X-ray optics, beamline diagnostics, high vacuum systems, motion controls, and LabVIEW/EPICS.

Aufgaben

• Devise imaginative, thorough, and practical beamline solutions evaluating standards and processes.
• Provide routine maintenance and ensure operational readiness of beamline(s).
• Support and train experimenters in beamline operations, end station use, safety, NNSS/SSRL guidelines.
