Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Beamforming Systems & Simulation Engineer to own system-level modeling for large phased-array satellite links. You will work at the intersection of antennas, beamforming algorithms, RF, modem, FPGA/ASIC, and satellite subsystems, shaping architectures through high-fidelity simulations.

Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Strong background in phased arrays, beamforming, digital signal processing, or wireless systems.
• Experience with MATLAB and/or Python for simulation environments.
• Ability to translate physical-system behavior into simulation models and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end simulation frameworks for large phased-array satellite systems.
• Model digital and hybrid beamforming architectures and multi-beam operation.
• Analyze array performance, beam patterns, sidelobes, and interference.
• Generate system-level coverage maps, SINR distributions, and link-performance stats.
• Incorporate satellite geometry, pointing errors, and GNC inputs into simulations.
• Model real-world RF impairments and hardware constraints in simulations.
• Integrate beamforming with link budgets and derive antenna and RF requirements.
• Perform Monte Carlo and corner-case analyses to quantify margins.
• Develop algorithms/models in MATLAB/Python; explore GPU acceleration.
• Collaborate with Antenna, RF, DSP, FPGA, ASIC, and systems teams.
