Job summary

Ropes & Gray LLP is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive BD alignment across Asset Management M&A and Sponsor Solutions and to grow client relationships across the firm’s global practice groups.

The role serves as a trusted advisor to practice leaders, coordinating pitches, client events, and brand-building initiatives while ensuring consistent messaging and materials are used across all teams. The firm emphasizes collaboration and innovation in its client development efforts.

Qualifications

• Must have Bachelor's degree; MBA or JD is helpful but not required.
• 10+ years of professional services BD experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of asset management, private equity, M&A is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate BD and marketing efforts to generate new business and raise market visibility for Asset Management M&A and Sponsor Solutions.
• Serve as central point of coordination between Asset Management M&A and Sponsor Solutions to align BD priorities and client initiatives.
• Collaborate with practice leaders to develop and implement BD plans for target clients, including budget planning and follow-up actions.
• Coordinate cross-practice opportunities and share market intelligence to support firm-wide BD strategies.
• Drive development and implementation of AI-enabled BD practices, especially for pitches, RFPs, and research workflows.
• Mentor and manage junior BD team members, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
