Job summary

Ropes & Gray LLP is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the private funds and asset management groups. This role emphasizes building client relationships, leading pitches and proposals, and driving revenue growth across global teams.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of BD experience in a professional services setting. MBA or JD is helpful but not mandatory, with a hybrid on-site requirement in Boston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or JD helpful but not required.
• Minimum of eight years of experience in business development within a professional services firm or corporate environment.
• Experience writing in a professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development and marketing efforts to generate new business and raise market visibility for the private funds and sponsor solutions group.
• Collaborate with practice group partners and global teams to create and implement client development plans, including budgeting and follow-up actions.
• Drive AI adoption across the BD function, promoting tools usage in proposals, RFPs, and market research.
• Maintain internal reporting and communication frameworks to track progress and share outcomes.
• Manage relationships and pursue new engagements with cross-functional colleagues and client targets.
