Job summary

HDR is seeking a seasoned Business Development Director for its Civic + Justice Architecture practice in California. You will lead client engagement, drive win strategies, and coordinate with regional leadership to grow our portfolio of civic projects.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in the A/E/C industry, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a willingness to travel to engage with clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated self-starter with a history of delivering results.
• Proven ability to develop win strategies and lead proposals.
• Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience building client networks in A/E/C.
• Willingness to travel regionally for engagements.

Responsibilities

• Direct client engagement and collaboration with project and regional leadership.
• Prioritize efforts to identify client opportunities and market awareness.
• Capture planning and client development planning.
• Cross-mentoring Civic + Justice Principals and emerging leaders.
• Help keep staff sharp for client development and interview requirements.
