Job summary

Gotion Inc. seeks an experienced Staff / Principal Battery Systems Engineer - Performance & Integration to own HV battery system performance and integration for North American EV programs. You will translate vehicle requirements into system targets across pack, cells, BMS, and thermal.

You’ll lead cross-functional trade-offs, validate battery performance, and mentor engineers while collaborating with OEM customers and global teams to shape Gotion’s North American battery systems capability.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Automotive, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of EV/battery systems engineering; strong system ownership preferred.
• Deep understanding of HV battery architecture, cells, modules, packs, BMS, thermal systems, sensing and vehicle interfaces.
• Experience translating OEM requirements into system targets and specs.

Responsibilities

• Own HV battery system performance and integration for NA EV programs.
• Translate vehicle requirements into system, pack, cell, BMS, thermal, and validation requirements.
• Lead technical trade-offs across energy, power, charging, thermal, aging, safety, cost, and packaging.
• Interface between OEMs and Gotion’s Cell, Pack, BMS, Thermal, Electrical, CAE, and Validation teams.
• Develop and maintain system-level requirements, performance specs, SORs, DFMEAs, and diagnostics.
• Analyze data to identify performance limitations and drive cross-functional resolution.
• Lead battery performance validation, including fast charging and field testing.
• Mentor engineers and shape battery systems engineering capability in NA.
• Support vehicle launches and issue resolution with internal and customer teams.
