Job summary

Summit Ridge Energy is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the electrical design and engineering of grid-scale and distributed Battery Energy Storage Systems from concept through IFC packages and commissioning. You will drive technically rigorous designs and coordinate with civil, structural, and field teams.

The role requires 5+ years in BESS or related power systems, proficiency with AutoCAD and power system studies (ETAP/SKM), and a PE license or eligibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years in BESS, power generation, renewables, or related design.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and power system study software (ETAP, SKM).
Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA codes.
Willingness to travel to project sites.
PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Develop conceptual layouts and drawings for BESS projects through IFC.
Prepare site plans, conduit sizing, grounding and equipment layouts.
Review system studies and ensure regulatory compliance.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated designs.
Provide field support during installation and commissioning.
Mentor junior engineers and support design guidelines.
