Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Battery State Estimation to design and productionize SOC, SOH, and SOP estimation algorithms. You will implement robust, production‑quality embedded software in C/C++, with MISRA adherence, and validate across MIL/SIL/HIL environments.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams across SDV platforms, apply model‑based design and virtualization, and influence the battery estimation architecture for scalable SDV services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of embedded software experience for high‑voltage battery systems or similar.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
• Hands‑on production experience with SOC, SOH, and/or SOP estimation algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and productionize battery state estimation algorithms for SOC, SOH, and SOP.
• Develop observers and filters that remain accurate across temperature, transients, noise, and aging.
• Implement production‑quality embedded software in C/C++ with MISRA compliance.
• Architect modular software with hardware abstraction for reuse across programs.
• Lead verification in MIL, SIL, and HIL environments and CI pipelines.
