Job summary

magniX is seeking a Battery Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, specification, and integration of advanced lithium-ion battery packs for electric and hybrid‑electric aerospace applications. You will guide partners and suppliers through development and industrialization with hands-on conceptual work and leadership.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering and 5+ years in EV pack design, with experience on 400V+ and 50kWh+ systems, and proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• 5 years of experience with EV lithium battery pack design.
• Experience with high voltage and large capacity packs (400V+ and 50kWh+).

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and packaging concepts for lithium-ion battery packs.
• CAD modeling of modules, enclosures, mounting systems, and interfaces.
• Ensure designs meet aerospace structural, thermal, vibration, and safety requirements.
• Design thermal runaway containment strategies.
• Define and execute battery pack test plans for mechanical tests.
• Set pack requirements from system level to components for integration and certification.
• Provide oversight to partners and suppliers on pack design and manufacturing.
• Review artifacts, changes, and qualification plans for magniX alignment.
• Contribute to program planning for battery development and industrialization.
