Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced Engineering role focused on manufacturability and cost targets for battery-related product designs. You will collaborate with Design Release, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing teams to drive advances in BOD/BOP and ensure robust design for automation.

You will lead cross-functional workgroups, apply DFMEA/PFMEA concepts, and participate in product development discussions, with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering with 2–5 years' experience for related roles.
• Experience evaluating, improving, and developing complex system-level stack analyses using GD&T and datum strategies.
• Experience interpreting virtual analysis tools including VDDV and CAE; Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that engineered product designs are manufacturable and meet cost, quality, and timing targets.
• Develop and drive implementation of Manufacturing Requirements in product designs.
• Provide technical support to DRE and SQE to enhance knowledge.
• Lead Workgroups with Manufacturing and Product Engineering to resolve issues.
• Support PMT, PDT and Workgroups Meetings.
• Partner with DREs and Engineering Managers to develop Battery BOD and BOP.
• Support simultaneous engineering for battery adhesives and component interfaces.
