Apple Inc. Battery Engineering group seeks a Battery Cell Engineer to lead design and qualification of new lithium rechargeable cell concepts from concept to completion.

You will partner across product development, operations, and reliability teams to deliver high-energy, compact battery solutions for products worldwide. The role emphasizes design, testing, and qualification of battery cells, with close attention to production ramp, standards compliance, and IP development.

Qualifications

• Experience with battery materials and/or cell design development.
• Experience with battery assembly, teardown, testing, characterization and diagnostics.
• Experience with evaluating test procedures and standards for rechargeable lithium battery products.

Responsibilities

• Develop performance specifications and cell design details for production ramp.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to develop new product designs on time and budget.
• Conduct investigations and prepare status reports on problems or issues with recommendations.
• Research literature and industry for advanced technologies applicable to next-generation cell design.
• Pursue development of intellectual property to protect technology developments.
