Job summary

Kelso Building Services (KBS) is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Technician to service and support Building Automation Systems across the Wasatch region. The Senior BAS Technician will diagnose, repair, and optimize control systems while engaging customers and mentoring junior technicians.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of BAS experience, HVAC troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to read control drawings. A valid driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BAS service experience required.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience reading control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience commissioning and servicing DDC systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Toubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices.
• Diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement inspections.
• Support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Validate sequences of operation and optimize system performance.
• Assist with commissioning, retro-commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete point-to-point verification and functional performance testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system backups.
• Configure alarms, dashboards, and analytics for customers.
• Support integration of HVAC, lighting, and power monitoring systems.
