Job summary

Kelso Industries' Kelso Building Services (KBS) – Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a Senior BAS Technician to support and grow our Building Automation Systems service business across the Phoenix metropolitan area. You will troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems, diagnose HVAC and electrical issues, and perform preventive maintenance.

The role includes mentoring junior technicians and leveraging remote analytics to optimize performance for diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years BAS service experience.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience reading control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience commissioning and servicing DDC systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices.
• Diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement inspections.
• Support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Validate sequences of operation and optimize system performance.
• Assist with commissioning, retro-commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete point-to-point verification and functional performance testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system backups.
• Support enterprise and site-level building automation platforms.
• Assist customers with energy optimization initiatives.
• Configure alarming, trending, dashboards, and analytics.
• Assist with Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) initiatives.
• Develop strong customer relationships and act as primary technical contact.
