Job summary

Kelso Building Services (KBS) – Automated Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Service Technician to support and grow our BAS service business across Wasatch. You will troubleshoot complex building systems, work with customers, mentor junior technicians, and help facilities reach peak performance.

The Senior BAS Technician role combines field service with remote diagnostics, analytics, cybersecurity awareness, and customer relationship management, demanding independence and a focus

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BAS service experience.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience reading control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience commissioning and servicing DDC systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices.
• Diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement inspections.
• Support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Validate sequences of operation and optimize system performance.
• Assist with commissioning, retro-commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete point-to-point verification and functional performance testing.
