Job summary

Octus is seeking a Legal Analyst or Senior Legal Analyst with deep bankruptcy knowledge to cover large Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 restructurings in the Americas Core Credit team. This is ideal for a mid-level or senior associate seeking to transition into distressed debt and restructuring.

The role requires JD, 4+ years in bankruptcy practice, and willingness to travel for court hearings and industry events. NYC-area candidates are preferred and relocation may be considered.

Qualifications

• JD with a strong academic record.
• Comprehensive understanding of bankruptcy law and 4+ years of bankruptcy experience, including large Chapter 11 matters.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for court hearings and events.
• Proactive self-starter able to interact with diverse professionals.

Responsibilities

• Monitor distressed cases across the industry; act as generalist while covering a subset of matters.
• Report on case developments promptly per Octus style.
• Prepare long-form analyses of legal or industry trends.
