Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Ballistician to support SRM technology research, design, analysis, testing, and evaluation. You will provide technical results, input to design and manufacturing, and deliver innovative solutions to ballistic challenges to meet critical national security needs.

The role requires expertise in propulsion energetics, experimental design, and cross-functional teamwork, with eligibility for a Secret Clearance. Colorado location with a comprehensive benefits package."

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Solid Rocket Motors, ballistics, or engineering design/analysis.
• Demonstrated Energetics performance analysis experience.
• Experience with experimental design and data analysis; proficiency with CLWire, SPP, or similar ballistic analysis tools.
• Familiarity with control theory and its engineering applications.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers.
• Must be eligible for a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform ballistics analysis to meet program requirements and inform/validate design.
• Develop, refine, and validate computational methods to predict propellant and ballistic performance.
• Review test data and draw conclusions to influence future designs.
• Present ballistic results to government partners and customers.
