Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a Senior Ballistician to support SRM research, analysis, testing, and evaluation for next‑gen propulsion technologies. You will deliver technical results, contribute to design inputs, and propose innovative solutions to energetic challenges.

Responsibilities include performing ballistics analyses, developing predictive tools, reviewing data, and presenting findings to government and customers while coordinating with systems, design, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in solid rocket motors, ballistics, or related design/analysis.
• Experience with experimental design and data analysis.
• Proficiency in CLWire, SPP, or similar ballistic tools.
• Eligibility for a U.S. security clearance (Secret).

Responsibilities

• Perform ballistics analysis to meet programmatic requirements.
• Develop methods to predict propellant performance and rocket motor ballistic performance.
• Review test data and draw meaningful conclusions to influence future designs.
• Present ballistic results to government partners and customers.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure performance and manufacturability.
• Organize and present major program findings to internal and external customers.
