Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Senior Ballistician to support SRM research, design, analysis, testing, and evaluation. You will provide technical analysis, inputs to design and manufacturing, and deliver innovative solutions to ballistic challenges.

You will work with cross-functional teams, perform data review, present results to government and commercial partners, and contribute to safety and reliability of propulsion systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in Solid Rocket Motors, ballistics, or related engineering design/analysis.
• Proficiency with ballistic analysis tools like CLWire or SPP.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform ballistics analysis to meet programmatic requirements.
• Develop and validate computational methods to predict propellant performance and ballistic performance.
• Review test data and draw conclusions to influence future designs.
• Present ballistic results to government partners and customers.
• Support characterization, testing, and modeling of energetic materials.
• Collaborate with systems, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Organize and present major program findings to internal and external customers.
