Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Ballistician to support R&D and programmatic efforts across SRM technologies. You will analyze performance, develop computational tools, and collaborate with design and manufacturing to translate results into robust propulsion solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• Experience with solid rocket motors and ballistics analysis
• Proficiency with data analysis and experimental design
• Familiarity with ballistic analysis tools (CLWire, SPP) and control theory
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and obtain a Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform ballistics analysis to meet programmatic requirements and inform/validate design
• Develop and validate computational methods to predict propellant and motor performance
• Review test data and draw conclusions to influence future designs
• Present ballistic results to government partners and customers
• Support energetic materials characterization and modeling
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability of motor performance
• Prepare and present major program findings to internal and external customers
