Job summary

Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to partner with the Bakery Director in overseeing daily manufacturing operations. You will lead Value Stream Managers and Supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality performance across production, with accountability for labor, schedule adherence, and cost controls.

The role champions Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM, leveraging MES platforms like Redzone to gain visibility, reduce downtime, and sustain improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology or related field.
• 7–10+ years in manufacturing/operations with people leadership.
• Experience implementing TPM, autonomous maintenance, or equipment reliability.
• Experience using MES (Redzone) to drive performance.
• Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma with measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead Value Stream Managers and Production Supervisors to safety, quality, service, and productivity goals.
• Develop leadership within the operations organization and manage staffing and performance.
• Provide operational leadership to deliver products safely, on schedule and cost-effectively.
• Monitor schedules, adjust resources, and meet customer demand while safeguarding quality.
• Own labor performance, staffing models, and overtime controls to hit budgets.
• Champion TPM programs and improve equipment reliability and loss elimination.
• Use MES (Redzone) to monitor performance and drive data-based decisions.
• Establish daily management systems with KPI reviews and escalation processes.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma projects.
• Collaborate across Maintenance, Engineering, FSQA, Sanitation, Supply Chain, Finance, HR.
