Job summary
IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances and food ingredients, seeks a Senior Bakery Application Scientist based in New Century, Kansas. You will lead innovative bakery applications from concept to commercialization, partnering with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to optimize formulations and drive profitability.
Ideal candidates have 10+ years in bakery R&D or technical service, with deep knowledge of ingredient functionality and product development, and are comfortable traveling up to 40%
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Bakery Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in R&D, Product Development, Technical Service, or Applications Development in bakery.
- Strong expertise in bakery systems and ingredient functionality.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative bakery applications using enzymes, hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, proteins, texturants, and inclusions.
- Develop technical solutions for customer-driven and market-driven bakery projects from bench-top to commercial scale.
- Collaborate with Operations to optimize formulations, processes, and manufacturing performance.
- Drive growth and profitability through cross-functional teamwork with Sales, Marketing, Product Line Management and Business Development.
- Provide technical presentations, demonstrations, and training to customers and internal teams.
