Job summary

IFF, based in New Century, Kansas, seeks a Senior Bakery Application Scientist to drive innovative bakery ingredient applications from concept to commercialization. You will lead the development of bakery solutions, collaborate across functions, and translate ingredient science into customer-ready innovations.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in bakery R&D or related areas, strong teamwork, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Bakery Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years in R&D, Product Development, Technical Service, or Applications Development in bakery.
• Strong expertise in bakery systems and product development.
• Experience scaling from lab to commercial manufacturing.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of bakery applications using enzymes, hydrocolloids, emulsifiers and proteins.
• Develop technical solutions for customer-driven bakery projects from bench to production.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to drive growth and profitability.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training to customers and teams.
• Monitor industry trends and support safety and quality initiatives.
