Job summary

The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) in Oregon is seeking a skilled Backup Engineer (Information Systems Specialist 7). You will deliver top-tier backup infrastructure expertise and customer service, coordinating across teams to shape the future of the Backup service line.

This role requires supporting a 24/7/365 operation and may include on-call duties. Hybrid work is allowed, with in-office days weekly as arranged.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in information systems with data backup/storage tech such as Commvault or similar.
• Experience in Windows, Linux and mainframe/legacy environments is a plus.
• CJIS clearance and ability to obtain/statewide background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert backup infrastructure support with strong customer service.
• Coordinate technical efforts and contribute to future Backup service development.
• Support a 24/7/365 operation and on‑call assignments as needed.
