Job summary

The Department of Administrative Services in Oregon is seeking a Linux Server Engineer (ISS7) to provide daily operational support for Data Center Services, focusing on installation, configuration, maintenance, security of Linux servers, and delivering customer assistance across more than 150 state agencies.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of information systems experience in Linux systems-based administration or related field.
• Four (4) years of information systems experience in Linux systems-based administration; with a degree in IT/CS and two (2) years of Linux administration.
• Two (2) years of information systems experience in Linux systems-based administration; or a Master’s degree may substitute for all above.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and secure Linux servers in Data Center Services.
• Provide day-to-day operational support and diagnose system issues for Linux servers.
• Perform patching, updates, and resource management; implement infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to ensure reliability and security of critical IT services.
