Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (Backup) to lead design, deployment, testing, and ongoing support of the backup infrastructure across Linux and Windows environments. You will manage SAN, NAS, Tape, and local storage configurations, ensure security controls, and drive reliability and recovery plans.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI-CI Poly eligibility and onsite work in Huntsville, AL or Pocatello, ID.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 6 years of hands-on experience in enterprise backup and recovery solutions such as Cohesity and NetBackup.
• Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI-CI Poly eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support backup infrastructure.
• Serve as the advanced subject matter expert for backup environments.
• Provide backup for Linux and Windows servers with SAN, NAS, Tape, and local storage configurations.
• Evaluate security across the backup infrastructure and maintain high availability and recovery processes.
• Develop scripts to automate backup tasks and monitoring across IaaS environments.
• Coordinate with vendors and IT staff to resolve issues and maintain documentation.
