Scout Motors seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead a team building digital products for customers and partners. You will shape architecture, ship complex backend systems, and mentor engineers in a fast-growing environment.

The role is based in Fremont, CA, with in-person collaboration required and a path to influence the full digital product portfolio, including order management, marketing, planning, and mobile integrations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership responsibility.
• Experience building scalable backend systems and digital products.
• Experience leading large projects spanning multiple teams and functions.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, microservices, and backend architecture.
• Start-up experience and ability to ship 0→1 products.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to deliver digital product solutions.
• Define roadmaps and milestones for complex projects.
• Architect and implement scalable backend systems across services.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence across the organization.
• Collaborate with product, design, and partners to align on requirements.
