Scout Motors in Fremont, California is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and enhance AI-powered operational intelligence systems within the Aftersales portfolio. You will develop scalable backend services that power intelligent scheduling, diagnostics, and service recommendations across our digital ecosystem.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and design, and ensure observability and production readiness for ML models in a fast-growing automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years in software development with the ability to lead multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with ML/AI systems like TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Ship interoperable products and systems on strong foundations.
• Design and build backend services that integrate ML models.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Productionize models for scheduling optimization, diagnostics, and service recommendations.
• Ensure observability and monitoring for model performance and data drift.
• Implement software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and experiment with new tools.
• Own services with 24/7 on-call coverage.
