Job summary

Iron EagleX (IEX), a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), delivers agile IT and Intelligence solutions. The Software Engineer-Mid will support U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida.

The role focuses on designing and maintaining backend systems with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, building APIs, and applying DevSecOps practices to ensure secure, efficient operations for national security missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• US citizenship and current DoD eligibility; Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data-driven backend systems for secure, high-performance search and analytics capabilities.
• Develop backend services for data ingestion and retrieval.
• Create APIs and microservices using Python Flask or FastAPI.
• Implement DevSecOps practices including CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on CAI/PAI datasets to support national security missions.
