Job summary

Beacon Hill Technologies is seeking a senior backend engineer to own production-grade data platforms and AI workflows. You will design scalable cloud-native architectures, implement APIs and processing pipelines, and partner with product and business teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.

Expect leadership, code quality, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced setting. You will leverage Python, AWS, and AI services to transform large datasets and documents into actionable

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend/software development experience.
• Strong Python expertise with API design and testing.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in AWS or similar cloud ecosystems.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Experience integrating LLMs or AI services into production applications.
• Familiarity with document processing workflows, OCR, data extraction, or information management platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build Scalable Backend Platforms.
• Develop and enhance distributed backend services that process high volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Create reliable APIs, processing pipelines, and event-driven systems that support critical business applications.

• Build production-ready AI workflows leveraging modern large language models and retrieval technologies.
• Implement systems that transform documents, OCR output, and external data sources into accurate, actionable information.
• Improve data quality, search relevance, classification, and information extraction capabilities.
• Drive Cloud & Data Architecture.
• Design and maintain cloud-based applications utilizing modern AWS services and serverless technologies.
• Develop resilient systems with strong monitoring, observability, security, and automated deployment practices.
• Optimize processing efficiency, cost, and system reliability.
• Collaborate & Influence.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices.
• Mentor teammates through technical leadership and thoughtful collaboration.
