Beyond SOF in Palo Alto, CA is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale a skilled team of Backend Software Engineers. You will champion engineering excellence, own system design, and help deliver a reliable, scalable product that powers our customers.

You’ll mentor managers, drive roadmaps with Product and Architecture, enforce CI/CD and testing standards, and foster an environment where developers grow, ship confidently, and maintain high quality across services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience with hands-on work building and scaling complex software systems.
• 3+ years of experience managing managers or large teams with a growth strategy.
• Strong product and architectural vision with ability to collaborate, communicate, and execute on that vision.
• Ability to build and evolve engineering processes enabling product delivery.
• Excellent communication to build trust, resolve conflicts, and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a group of engineers to deliver production-grade microservices.
• Oversee development of a business-critical system using modern backend technologies.
• Institute and enforce best practices for quality, architecture, and maintainability.
• Lead design reviews and balance features with technical debt.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Tech Leads on roadmaps.
• Coach and mentor engineers, supporting their career development plans.
